The Ellen Olusola Caulcrick Foundation was formally launched on May 20, 2013, at the funeral service of the late Mrs. Ellen Olusola Caulcrick.
The Ellen Olusola Caulcrick Foundation (EOCF) was launched on June 20, 2013, at the funeral service of the late Mrs. Ellen Olusola Caulcrick by the Chairman, Aremo Awoboh Pearse and Members of the Board of Olusoye Compensatory Center to honor the legacy Mrs. Ellen Olusola Caulcrick. Mrs. Caulcrick was a dedicated special educator, social
worker, administrator, a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities and founder of Olusoye Compensatory Center.
She was an international consultant in Special Education. She worked with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) for many years and presented at national and International conferences on Special Education. The case study she presented on Nigeria was in demand for many years . It provided parents and professionals a resource in caring for individuals with special needs. In addition, her presentation on Special Education was embedded in the 1st edition of the Nigerian National Policy on Education (Special Education Section,1974) She was a resource person in Special Education. She appealed to the government for a National Board for the Education of Persons with Disabilities.
After her retirement from the Federal Ministry of Education,(Special Education Unit), she
founded the Olusoye Compensatory Center, a nonprofit institution dedicated to serving children
with special needs. This center was created in response to the urgent societal need for specialized
care and education for these children .
Through her effort and unrelenting advocacy, children with special needs in Lagos State, Nigeria
were allowed to participate in the Annual Children’s Day Parade for the first time in 1971, under
the leadership of Chief Adeniran Ogunsanya, Commissioner of Education and Governor of
Lagos State, Brigadier Mobolaji Johnson.
Although progress has been made in the education, inclusion, and care of individuals with
disabilities, our community continues to lag behind other nations in shifting public attitudes,
eliminating stigma, and bridging the gap between individuals with disabilities and their non-
disabled peers. The EOC Foundation is committed to bridging this gap through its mission. We
envision a society where cultural attitudes are transformed, and individuals with disabilities are
stimulated and supported to maximize their full potential.

Advocacy | Respect | Collaboration | Inclusion | Transparency | Accountability
Who says children with special needs are unproductive?
Who says they wait on the able to live?
See us where we have made our mark
We toil with sweat to rest at night
Just like the Able, we’ve made our mark
Let the world know us for our worth
Let no man treat us with disdain
As the Lord of the Special Needs Children takes on the charge.
Chorus:
The winning Special Child and Adult of the millennium,
